Dorothy Mae Coleman, 74, of Lake Park, died Friday March 31, 2023 in South Georgia Medical Center.

She was born December 17, 1948 in Echols County to the late W.C. Hightower and the late Marie Thornton Hightower. She was the manager with Macadoos for years, employed with the Warehouse in Valdosta and also worked at the Gas-N-Go. She was of the Baptist faith, was the widow of James David Coleman and also preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Ann Taylor.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Kathleen (Adam) Smith of Lake Park, Meachell (Ricky) Coleman Adams-Trimm of Nashville and Paula (Tommy) Sullivan of Tifton; son: William Shane (Lori) Coleman of Lake Village, AR; 2 brothers: Carl Hightower of Griffin and Clinton (Nora) Hightower of Lake Park; brother-in-law: John L. Taylor of Lake Park; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; niece: Jennifer Taylor Royals of Adel; nephew: Chad Taylor of Sparks; several other nieces and nephews.

Her family will honor her request for cremation. A public visitation will be held Wednesday April 5, 2023 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
