Dorothy Faye "Dot" Ray, 88, of Nashville, died Tuesday June 16, 2015 in the South Georgia Medical Center.

She was born December 21, 1926 in Lanier County to the late Joseph Candler Pierce and the late Nancy Richardson Pierce. She was a homemaker, served as the corporate secretary for Howard Ray Construction Co and was the former general manager of the King of the Road Valdosta Best Western. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Ray City. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers: J.C. Pierce, Dilmus Pierce, Wilmont Pierce, Billy Pierce and McDonald Pierce; sister: Beatrice Everett.

She is survived by her Husband: Howard E. Ray of Nashville; 3 sons: Gregg (Lora) Ray of Nashville, Clinton (Betty) Ray of Nashville and Mitch (Judith) Ray of Valdosta; sister: Jessie Hudson of Valdosta; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Ray City with the Rev. Robbie Peay and the Rev. Bob Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in the Beaver Dam Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5-7 PM.
