Dottie Jean Griffin, 81, of Homerville, died Tuesday October 15, 2024 at Satilla Memorial Hospital, Waycross.

She was born August 14, 1943 in Berrien County to the late James Robert Nix and the late Geneva Moore Nix. She was a homemaker, loved spending time with her family, playing board games and reading novels. She was always very competitive in all tasks and attended Flat Creek Church. She was preceded in death by a sister: Nancy McCranie and a brother: Buck Nix.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Debbie (Cecil) Barber of Homerville and Diane Griffis of Valdosta; son: Andy (Mandi) Griffin of Bremen; 8 grandchildren: Rhett (Nikki) Barber, Mackenzie Gardner, Brittnee (Terrence) Hiott, Dane Gardner, Chelsea Orr, Brooke (Zac) Broussard, Mirian Griffin and Sarah Ruth Griffin; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 18, 2024 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Friday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
