Dwight Edwin Hogan, 79, of Alapaha died Friday May 25, 2018 at his residence.
He was born June 12, 1938 in Irwin County to the late D.J. Hogan and the late Euna Mae Mixon Hogan. He was a retired painter, veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St Luke Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a Mason and Past Master of Willacoochee Lodge F & AM#197. He was preceded in death by a sister: Josa Mae Moore and 2 brothers: John Marshall Hogan and Vincent Hogan.
He is survived by his wife: Sara Nell Veal Hogan of Alapaha; 5 daughters: Pat (Wayne) Stone of Alapaha, Pam (Mike) Luke of Alapaha, Kathy (Jerry) Hyers of Alapaha, Vicky Dyal of Alapaha and Cheryl (Ricky) Roberson of Milan,; 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Bobby Hogan of Alapaha and Billy Hogan of Jacksonville, FL; sister: Betty Jo Hankins of Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral services will be held Sunday May 27, 2018 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr. and Rev. John Jacobs officiating. Due to inclement weather, Masonic Rites will be held in the Chapel after the service. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
