Obituary

Henry Dwight Lasseter, 78 of Nashville, died Wednesday June 8, 2022 at SGMC in Valdosta.

He was born April 20, 1944 in Cook County to the late Henry John "H.J." Lasseter and the late Margaret Inez Smith Lasseter. He was a retired receiving clerk at Nashville Mills with 34 years of service and was a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church. He served 2 years in the United States Army and retired from the GA National Guard with 25 years of service.  He was truly a "jack of all trades", loved helping people and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He adored his grandchildren and never missed an activity they were a part of. He was preceded in death by his wife: Tilda Sue Cornelius Lasseter who died in 2020.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Sue Ann (Craig) Tucker of Alapaha and Julie Tucker (Jack Cade) of Adel; son: Steve (Lori) Lasseter of Nashville; 3 sisters: Guilda Swain of Sale City, Oneida (David) Cornelius of Nashville and Kathy (Don) DeMarcus of Crossville, TN; 2 brothers: Robert "Buddy" Lasseter of Thomasville and Wayne (Patricia) Lasseter of Naylor; 7 grandchildren: Blake (Lacey) Lowery, Cole Lasseter, Austin Lasseter, Reed Tucker, Garrett Tucker, Katie Tucker and Jaden Tucker; great granddaughter: Lyvleigh Lowery; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 11, 2022 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Stewart and the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Bridge cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
