Mr. Earl Waiman Bennett, 79, of Crawfordville, died Friday, March 3, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Bennett was born in Berrien County, and had lived in Taliaferro County since 1981. He was the son of the late Joe Bennett and Mittie Ruth Hodge Bennett, and was the widower of Lyda Jean Hughes Bennett. He was a retired construction superintendent, and was preceded in death by a son, Joe Bennett.

Mr. Bennett is survived by three sons, Greg Bennett (Shirley), of Fort Valley, Steve Bennett, of Valdosta, and Ken Bennett (Hope), of Buckhead; two daughters, Emily Rutherford (June), of Crawfordville, and Judy Gentry (David), also of Crawfordville; one sister, Martha Birdwell, of Warner Robins; 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Graveside service Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11 AM in Carter Cemetery in Lake Park with Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Family will receive friends in the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
