Earl J. Smith, 84, of Nashville, died Saturday March 19, 2022 at SGMC in Valdosta.

He was born November 13, 1937 in Berrien County to the late Woodrow Wilson Smith and the late Maude Crook Smith. He worked at Moody AFB in civil service and was a retired sales representative with the former Martin Motors for 55 years. He attended the Nashville Mission and served in the United States Army. He loved being outside and fishing in Suwannee, FL. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Janet Lynn Smith and a brother: Bill Smith.

He is survived by his wife: Jean Blanton Smith of Nashville; 2 sons: Dennis Smith of Nashville and Terry (Deanna) Smith of Valdosta; sister: Caroline Sutton of Nashville; brother: James Smith of Nashville; 5 grandchildren: Derek (Kaylea) Smith of Nashville, Deanna (Joe) Kusmisz of Roswell, Laura Smith of Valdosta, Tara Smith of Valdosta and Katie Smith of Valdosta; 5 great grandchildren: Damon, Anslie, Whalen, Lelyn and JoJo; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 22, 2022 at 4:30 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Freddie Stone and the Rev. Stan Nix officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
