Earl Wayne "Wimp" Gray, 78, of Nashville, died Tuesday May 10, 2016 at his residence.

He was born December 8, 1937 in Berrien County to the late Edwin Hiram Gray and the late Vienna Swails Gray. He retired from Chaparral Boats in the warranty department after 27 years of service and he could fix anything on a boat. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 wives: Gwen Browning Gray and Patti McKinley Gray.
2 brothers: L.B. Gray and Don (Dorothy Hiers Gray) Gray; sister: Betty Nell Gray (Jimmy) Ross.

Survivors include: wife of 20 years: Joann Phillips Gandy Gray of Nashville; 3 daughters: Diane Gandy Baldree (Bryan Moore) of Sparks, Lori McCardle (Johnny) Ashley of Hahira, and Margie Gray Golden of Nashville; 6 sons: Alan Gray of Nashville, Earl (Michelle) Gray of Nashville, Ricky McCardle of Nashville, Matthew (Linda) McCardle of Homerville, Danny Gandy of Sparks, and David Gandy of Sparks; special grandson: Seaman John Charles "JC" Baldree; 9 grandchildren: Christine Gaskins (Jonathan) Graddy, Patricia West, Jessica McCardle, Neal McCardle, Kelsey Whaley, Rachel Gray, Ryan Golden, Kaleb Golden, and Chloe Anderson; several great grandchildren; brother: Alton (Ruby) Gray of Lakeland; sister-in-law: Ethel Browning Gray of Nashville; several nieces and nephews; 2 aunts: Retha Gray Burgstaller of Nashville and Jenny Swails Deiker of Wachula, FL; and an uncle: Lee (Pete) Swails of Wachula, FL.

Funeral services will be Saturday May 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church wit the Rev. J. W. Dukes, III, Rev. Alvin Lewis, Rev. Jimmy Spikes, and Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-9 PM at the funeral home.
