Edith Fountain, 93, of Nashville, died Sunday August 30, 2015 in the South Georgia Medical Center.
She was born June 19, 1922 in Colquitt County to the late Alvin May and the late Maggie Howard May. She was a homemaker, had retired from Nashville Textile and was a member of Flat Creek Church. She was very active in the Eastern Star, having held office of Worthy Matron on three different occasions and was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Lester Warren, Danny Nelms, and James Fountain; daughter: Mary Alice Jones; son: James Lester "Buddy" Warren II, 6 brothers, 2 grandchildren, a great grandson and a great great grandson.
She is survived by 4 granddaughters: Lucinda Tucker of TyTy, Kay Brock of Tifton, Vicki Rimes of Lebanon, TN and Britttney Warren of Jasper; grandson: James Warren III of Valdosta; 5 sisters: Juanita Davis of Howell, Virginia Wetherington of Nashville, Aretha Drake of Lake Park, Marie Morgan of Ray City and Idell Mosley of Macon; 9 great grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 1, 2015 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey and Rev. Mark Swain officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
