Obituary

Edna Ruth Aycock, 74, of Alapaha, died Thursday March 20, 2014 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.

She was born January 23, 1940 in Ocilla to the late Robert DeBerry and the late Mattie Spicer. She was a homemaker and retired secretary with the Berrien County Board of Education. She was a member of Alapaha Baptist Church and the widow of Benjamin Hilliard "Ben" Aycock who died on January 6, 2008. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Jean Drawdy of Omega and Staci (B.B.) Ball of Eldorado; brother: Elton (Elaine) DeBerry of Fitzgerald; 4 grandchildren: Jason (Melissa) Drawdy, Jon Drawdy, Austin Ball, and Benjamin Ball; great grandson: Jayson Drawdy.

Funeral services will be held Sunday March 23, 2014 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery in Irwin County. Visitation is Saturday from 6 to 8 PM.
