Obituary

Edwin Register, 87, of Alapaha, died Sunday July 28, 2024, in the Fellowship Home in Nashville.

He was born September 10, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Colan Cager Register and the late Thelma Moore Register. He was a retired tech sergeant in the United States Air Force, worked as a firefighter and served on many Apollo rescues missions with NASA. He loved his grandchildren, fishing, hunting and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife: Patricia "Pat" Register who died on June 30, 2024; sister: Virginia Sutton and a brother: Colan Register, Jr.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Michelle Leslie of Nashville and Karen (Thad) Brewton of McRae; 4 grandchildren: Dakota (Tyler) Allen of Adel, Dr. Chelsea Allen (Andrew Pollock) of Jacksonville, FL, Sam Brewton (Haley White) of Tifton and Bailey Brewton (Colby Butler) of McRae; 2 great grandchildren: Ryder Allen and Reed Allen; 2 nephews: David (Kathryn) Bailey of Greenville, SC and Richard (Tabitha) Powell of Alapaha; 2 nieces: Suzanne (Bill) Brown of Key Largo, FL and Diane (Ronnie) Ziegler of Isle of Palms, SC. A special thanks to the staff of the Fellowship Home and 2 special friends: Jayson Knowles and Corey Knowles.

A memorial service will be held Saturday August 10, 2024 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
