Obituary

Joan Elaine Cantrell, 88, of Bogart, formerly of Nashville, died Thursday August 11, 2022 at the Landing of Bogart.

She was born July 22, 1934 in Lowndes County to the late Dr. W.W. Turner, Jr and the late Ruby Christina Gaskins Turner. She was the director, chief technician, and founder of the SGMC School of X-Ray and attended the Nashville United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Clarence M. Cantrell, Jr who died in 1961 and was also preceded in death by a sister: Alethea Christina Turner; grandson: Quinn McCusker.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Liz (Peter) McCusker of Nantucket Island, MA and Joan Cantrell Goldin of Savannah; brother: William Waugh Turner III of Nashville; 4 grandchildren: William Turner Oliver, Lindsay Joan Crowder, Merry Elizabeth Crowder and Perrin Elizabeth McCusker; great grandson: Noah James Neal.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 16, 2022 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
