Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Nix, 78, of Nashville, died Sunday January 22, 2017 at her residence with her husband of 55 years.

She was born June 3, 1938 in Atlanta to the late Luther Sigers and the late Ida Bell Echols Sigers. She was a retired nurse having worked in Berrien and Lowndes Counties. She also retired from Berrien County Board of Education as the health occupational coordinator after 15 years of service. She was a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church where she was active in many capacities, especially WMU and Sunday School. She was the pillar of the New Lois Community and faithful member of the Pine Needles Sewing Club. She cherished her life spent as a homemaker and raising her family. She was preceded in death by a brother: Gene Sigers.

She is survived by 5 sons: Mark (Stacey) Nix of Valdosta, Greg (Michelle) Nix of Nashville, Doug (Loren) Nix of Nashville, Dan (Rachel) Nix of Nashville and Stan (Betsy) Nix of Nashville; 2 sisters: Lou Tatum of Loganville and Joyce Brooks of Gainesville; sister-in-law: Virginia Lewallen of Gainesville; 18 grandchildren: Sarah, Madison, Mary Grace, Ariel, Kayla, Lucy, Molly, Beau, Bart, Josie, Liza, Baker, Chloe, Allie, Noah, Lydia, Natalie and Nathan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 25, 2017 at 11 AM in the Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Stewart and the Rev. Stanley Luke officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Nashville First Baptist Church.
