Obituary

Eloise Dean Harper, 78, of Alapaha, died Tuesday January 9, 2018 at Satilla Memorial Hospital in Waycross.

She was born October 30, 1939 in Atkinson County to the late Ottis Dean and the late Henrietta Lewis Dean. She was a homemaker, retired with J.P. Stevens and attended Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Riley Harper who died on January 23, 2012. She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Greg Steverson; sister: Billy Sue Fountain and 3 brothers: Buddy Dean, Willie Dean and Jerry Dean.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Deloris (Russell) Rodgers of Wellborn, FL and Delaine (Greg) Williams of Alapaha; son: John Lewis (Jo Beth) Harper of Nashville; grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeff) Williams, Johnny Harper, Stacey (Billy) Fender, Justin Williams and Stephen Williams; 4 great grandchildren: Kimberly, Kathryn, Brandon and Bella; 5 sisters: Gladys Foxworth of Cuthbert, Lora Mae Sutton of Andalusia, AL, Latrell Dean of Ocilla, Edwinna Skinner of Lakeland and Pansy Crosby of Tifton; 5 brothers: Rev. Daniel Dean of Nashville, Benny Dean of Lakeland, Bobby Dean of Fitzgerald, Dwane Dean of Nashville and Lewis Dean of Brookfield.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 13, 2018 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday from noon until hour of services.
