Elva Mills' Obituary
Elva Mills, 84, of Nashville died Thursday October 20, 2011 in the Berrien Nursing Center.
She was born October 2, 1927 in Berrien County to the late Willie Marion Allen and the late Mary Futch. She was a retired teacher with the Decatur City Schools, graduate of the Woman's College of Georgia, received her Doctorate Degree from Emory University, a former teacher of the year, member of Delta Kappa Gamma, GEA, NEA and Berrien Retired Teachers. She was the widow of Jerry McLean Mills who died in 2008 and was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Herbert, Roy, and Burie Allen.
She is survived by her brother: Donald Allen of Nashville; sister: Blanche Ganey of Jacksonville, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday October 23, 2011 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary James officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday from 6 to 8 PM.
