Emory Taylor, 89, of Ray City, died Monday March 17, 2014 at his residence.

He was born July 13, 1924 in Berrien County to the late Carlie M. Taylor and the late Mae Swindle. He was retired Civil Service with Moody Air Force Base and a member of the Ray City First Baptist Church. He was in the United States Army and served in WWII. He was the widower of Emma Lou (Pat) Clements Taylor who died on March 21, 2005.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Suzanne Taylor of Fernandina Beach, FL; granddaughter: Natalie (Shawn) Cochran of Salisbury, NC; great granddaughter: Emilyn Cochran; great grandson: Jackson Cochran; caregiver and long time friend: Cynthia Davis.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 11 AM in the Ray City First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Peay officiating. Entombment will follow in the Beaver Dam Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
