Obituary

Emory Lamar Tucker, 77, of Quitman died Sunday May 26, 2019 at his residence.

He was born May 19, 1942 in Irwin County to the late J. P. Tucker and the late Ella Mae Jowers Tucker.  He was a Special Project Superintendent & Purchasing Agent with Drexel Chemical in Memphis, TN, a Navy Veteran and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Troupeville.  He was preceded in death by his first wife: Fonda Fountain Tucker and 5 brothers: Eules Tucker, Bernell Tucker, Winston Tucker, Sherrill Tucker and Jack Tucker.

He is survived by his wife: Janette Davis Pierson Tucker of Quitman; daughter: Kim Haire of Valdosta; 2 sons: Greg (Cindy) Tucker of Quitman and Lance Tucker of Lake Park; 2 step daughters: Tina P. (Mike) Collins of Norman Park and Dale P. (Doug) Strickland of Moultrie; 7 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 28, 2019 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in the Rowe Cemetery in Atkinson County.  Visitation will be held Tuesday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Shriner's Hospital or the church of your choosing.
