Erma Ruth Roberts, 88, of Enigma, died Saturday March 9, 2013 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 8, 1924 in Berrien County to the late Jessie Andrew Stewart and the late Julia Gertrude Dean. She was a homemaker, devoted farmer's wife and for 38 years was employed with the Berrien County Board of Education as a para pro and substitute teacher. She was an active member of the Enigma Congregational Christian Church since 1957 and served as secretary, treasurer, and Sunday School teacher. She was the widow of Winston Roberts and they were married for 50 years until his death in 1992. She is also preceded in death by the step mother who raised her: Mattie Alexander Bennett Stewart; 2 sisters: Bertie Danforth and Valerie Painter.

She is survived by a daughter: Cynthia (John) Woodard of Cordele; 2 sons: Farrell (Kathy) Roberts of Tifton and Llewellyn (Linda) Roberts of Enigma; 8 grandchildren: Darline (Lanny) McCluskey, Derene Sumner, Cathy Morris, Dallas (Travis) Ingram, Jock (Brenna) Taylor, Bridget Taylor Milani, Doug (Heather) Roberts, and Dane Roberts; 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 11 AM in the Enigma Congregational Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Stone and Rev. Garvie Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Enigma City Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Enigma Congregational Christian Church or Hospice of Tiftarea.
