Eugene Talmadge "Gene" Jones, 87, of Nashville died Tuesday March 24, 2015 in the Fellowship Home in Valdosta.

He was born June 18, 1927 in Berrien County to the late Fisher Jones and the late Mary Rachel Griffin Jones. He was a retired property manager, member of Nashville First Baptist Church, Charter member and Past President of the Nashville/Berrien Rotary Club and a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife: Christine Scarborough Jones, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by 2 sons: Michael (Tara) Jones of Nashville and Phil Jones of Valdosta; 4 grandchildren: Courtney (James) Howell of Valdosta, Lindsi Jones of Valdosta, Collin Jones of Nashville, and Cameron (Sarah) Jones of Brunswick; 1 great granddaughter: Lottie Howell of Valdosta; 5 sisters: Martha Hayes of Nashville, Mamie Lee Moore of Nashville, Ina Ruth Hendley of Dadeville, AL, Rachel Jacobs of Ovieda, FL and Margie Snoderly of Jackson; 1 brother, William Jones of Ovieda, FL.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Luke officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Camp J.D. Tygart of the United Methodist Church.
