Obituary

Eula Ida Commander, 90, of Valdosta died Saturday June 2, 2012 at her residence.

She was born March 19, 1922 in Berrien County to the late Samuel Mitchell Griffin and the late Viola Adkins. She was a retired LPN, representative for Stanley Home Products and was a foreign correspondent in China for the former Nashville Herald. She was a member of the Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter: Susan Kay (Larry) Grooms of Valdosta; 2 sons: Jerry D. (Angie) Commander of Valdosta and Joe (Ann) Commander of Murfressboro, TN; 6 grandchildren: Clay Grooms, Joshua Commander, Samuel Commander, Shantel Perry, Kyle Commander, and Jessica Commander; 8 great grandchildren: Bonnie Grooms, Jennifer Grooms, Elizabeth Grooms, Fletcher Commander, Christian Commander, Haley Commander, Vega Commander, and Emmeline Perry.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 5, 2012 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
