Evelyn Christine Kent, 80, of Nashville died Friday September 18, 2020 at Langdale Hospice House.

She was born May 24, 1940 to the late Perry Mathis and the late Janie Lucille Tatum Mathis.  She was a homemaker and a member of New Fellowship Church.  She was the widow of Jack Wesley Kent who died in 2000; she was also preceded in death by a son: Ricky Kent who died in 2006; two brothers: Perry Alton Mathis and Arthur Mathis.

She is survived by two granddaughters: Breanna Kent and Ann Kent both of Nashville; five brothers: Donald Mathis, Robert Mathis and Billy Mathis all of Nashville, Jerry Mathis of Baker, FL, Joe Mathis of Fort Walton, FL; three sisters: Bonnie Baker and Martha Sue Holloway both of Nashville and Faye Morris of Altha, FL.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 21, 2020 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
