Obituary

Evelyn Hester Hall Miller, 90, of Nashville died Tuesday December 26, 2017 in SGMC.

She was born July 12, 1927 in Berrien County to the late William Allen Hall and Mattie Rowan Hall. A steadfast pillar and lifelong member of Bethel Holiness Church, she was a homemaker and a teacher at the former East Berrien School. She touched many lives as she invited others to open their hearts to the Lord. Her life revolved around her precious family and her cherished church. She taught Sunday School and ministered at the nursing home until her death. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Claudie Singletary, Maudell French, Marie Hughes, Naomi Lusher and Nola Mae Abel; 2 brothers: Lonnie Hall and Rossie Hall; 2 sons-in-law: Jim Lane and George Holton.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Les Miller, Jr. of Nashville; 2 daughters: Damaris Lane of Valdosta and Rhonda Holton of Grovetown; 3 grandchildren: Lindsay (Greg) Peacock of Johns Creek, Eric Holton of Anderson, SC and Jonna Hundley of Grovetown; 3 great grandchildren: Aston Peacock, Anslee Peacock and Ella Holton; sister: Hattie Bradley of Marietta; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Miller, known to many as Sister Evelyn, was a wonderful cook who generously brought food to church functions throughout the years. She prayed daily for her extended family and many others. She played piano, led the choir and proudly taught God's word for decades. It was her desire that all of her family "know the Lord and make it to Heaven."

Funeral services will be held Friday December 29, 2017 at 11 AM in Bethel Holiness Church with the Rev. Ty Sorrow and Rev. Justin Willingham officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Bethel Holiness Church.
