Fern Sulphin Turner's Obituary
Fern Turner, 79, of Nashville died Thursday February 26, 2015 in South Georgia Medical Center.
She was born January 11, 1936 in Bay Minette, Alabama to the late Nadan Johnson and the late Eva Adams Johnson. She was a homemaker and a retired Registered Nurse with Civil Service at Moody Air Force Base for 30 years. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lane Johnson.
She is survived by her husband: Walter "Bill" Turner of Nashville; son: Walt (Lori) Turner of Valdosta; daughter: Dana Turner of Naples, FL; brother: Coleman Johnson of Bay Minette, AL; 2 grandchildren, John Michael Beaumont and James Mitchell Turner.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday March 1, 2015 at 2 PM in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday from 5 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis , TN 38105. All past and present members of Nashville City Council are asked to be honorary pallbearers.
