In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Floried Harper Hogan, the oldest resident of Berrien County, who left us on May 2,2025, at the age of 105. Born on November 23, 1919, Floried was a beacon of light to all who knew her, embodying kindness, compassion, generosity and a zest for life that was truly remarkable. She never turned away a stranger.

Floried was a devoted family member and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband John T Hogan. She was preceded in death by a son: Tommie Wayne Hogan; 4 siblings: Vinson Harper, Lucious Harper, Leroy Harper and Melba McCellan as well as her parents Alice and Charlie Harper. She has 2 surviving siblings: Jean Rowe of St. Augustine, FL & Marshall Harper of Nashville; 5 surviving children: Larry Charles Hogan of Nashville, Vivian Leftwich of Cookeville, TN, Lillian Williams of Nashville, Grace Light of The Villages, FL and Debbie Snellman of Vero Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren.

Floried was a long-time member of First Baptist church of Nashville. She loved cooking for her family and everyone else. She was an avid sewer, loved cross word puzzles and above all an enthusiastic shopper.  You would never see her without her jewelry and makeup on. Late in life she would take care of many at least 20 years younger than herself.

A celebration of Floried's life will be held on Monday May 5, 2025, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Scott King at 1218 Adel Hwy, Nashville GA 31639. Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Floried are invited to join in honoring her life.
