Melinda Gail Blount, 59, of Nashville, died Saturday January 26,2019 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.

She was born September 25, 1959 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Willie Bryant Martin and Dorothy Cornelius Giddens. She was a nurses aide with the Victory House and a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Kayla Gail Blount who died in 1989.

She is survived by her husband: Edward Blount of Nashville; daughter: Angie Blount of Nashville; mother: Dorothy Giddens of Nashville; sister: Paula Marshall of Nashville; brother: Keith (Cindy) Martin of Valdosta; 5 grandchildren: Aleyson Stewart, Kaytlyn Blount, Brayden Blount, Bentley Blount and Kassi Sirmans; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 28, 2019 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation is Monday one hour prior to the service.
