Garland Lee Mitchell, 84, of Nashville died Monday December 7, 2015 in Tift Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 29, 1931 in Brooks County to the late Vonnie Lee and the late Beulah Elizabeth Newsome Mitchell. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force as a Tech Sergeant firefighter with 20 years of service, served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by a son: Dennis Mitchell; sister: Ada Beauchamp and a brother: Riley David Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife: Norma Hunnicutt Mitchell of Nashville; 2 daughters: Linda Sue (Gary) Rowan of Madison, FL and Becky (Scott) Willis of West Berrien; son: David (Ashley) Mitchell of Wettington Springs, SD; brother: Brooks Mitchell of Nashville; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 11, 2015 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Dukes, III and the Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11 am until hour of service.
