Gene Watson Griffin, 74, of Nashville died Sunday August 23, 2020 at his residence.

He was born March 29, 1946 in Cook County to the late Tom Watson Griffin and the late Edna Mae Boone Griffin.  He was retired as a supervisor from Tifton Aluminum after 43 years of service, loved raising cattle and spending time on the farm.  He is preceded in death by his first wife: Mattie Lou Minchew Griffin who died in 1993.

He is survived by his wife: Laquietta Swain Griffin of Nashville; three sons: Gary (Tammy) Griffin of Jacksonville, FL, Tom (Connie Stover) Griffin of Ocilla and Tim Griffin of Brookfield; two step sons: Jeff (Daphne) Purvis of Camden, NC, Stanley Purvis of Willacoochee; sister: Velma Bowen of Danville; two brothers: Kenneth Griffin of Gainesville and Mike Griffin of Crossville, TN; nine grandchildren: Tanner Griffin, Codi Griffin, Matthew Griffin, Sarah Griffin, Dustin Griffin, Scotty Purvis, Heather Mock, Jennifer Rich and Joey Smith; fourteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 29, 2020 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Beggs officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Humane Society.
