George Eddie Guess, 66, of Ocilla, died Monday February 3, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born November 1, 1953 in Atkinson County to the late Troy Guess and the late Edwina Louise Warren Guess. He worked with Amoco/ Propex in Nashville and Hazlehurst for 42 years in project maintenance. He was of the Baptist faith, loved wood working, hunting, camping and especially loved his grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his brother: Troy Guess, Jr.

He is survived by his wife: Rita Duren Guess of Ocilla; daughter: Amy (Amos Hall) Guess of Ocilla; 3 sons: Eddie (Blakely) Guess of Norman Park, T.J. (Nicole) Lanier of Nashville and Jason (Renee) Guess of Tifton; 2 sisters: Latrelle (Jim) Miller of Buford and Virginia (Bobby) Waller of Ocilla; brother: Danny (Nell) Guess of Clarkesville; 11 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; 2 sisters-in-law: Debra Brogdon of Nashville and Lois (Tommy) Luke of Nashville; brother-in-law: Don (Barbara) Duren of Lakeland;  several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 5, 2020 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey and the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
