Obituary

Grace Elizabeth Watson, 83, of Nashville, died Thursday July 6, 2023 at River Brook Healthcare Center in Homerville.

She was born May 14, 1940 in Berrien County to the late Leroy Dewitt Carter and the late Lillian Elizabeth Gay Carter. She was a homemaker, worked with Victory Villa and was a seamstress with Queen Carpet in Valdosta. She attended the First Baptist Church of Ray City and was the widow of Roy Franklin Watson who died in 1988. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Ronnie Carter.

She is survived by a daughter: Jennifer Watson of Nashville; 5 sons: Kenny Chance of Nashville, Tony Chance of Adel, Ronnie Chance of Birmingham, AL, Greg (Kelly) Chance of Atlanta and Timmy (Michelle) Chance of Valdosta; 6 sisters: Joann Jacobs of Jacksonville, FL, Virginia Carter of Nashville, Linda Mallory of Nashville, Shirley McGee of Nashville, Rhonda Royals of Nashville and Tammy Nash of Nashville; 4 brothers: Fred Carter of Ray City, Doug Carter of Ray City, Leroy Carter of Statenville and Donnie Carter of Nashville; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday July 9, 2023 at 3 PM in the First Baptist Church of Ray City with the Rev. Robbie Peay officiating. Interment will follow in the Beaver Dam cemetery. Visitation is Sunday in the church one hour prior to the service.
