Gregory Steven Tyson, 61, of Valrico, FL, died Thursday July 15, 2021 at his residence.

He was born April 12, 1960 in Ware County to the late James Franklin Tyson and Mattie Geneva Golden Tyson. He was a retired colonel with the United States Marine Corps and graduate of the United States Naval Academy.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia Harrell Tyson of Valrico, FL; 3 sons: Nicholas (Amanda) Tyson of Phoenix, AZ, Patrick (Christina) Tyson of Colorado Springs, CO and Sean Tyson of Austin, TX; mother: Geneva Tyson of Nashville; brother: Jerry Tyson of Treasure Island, FL; 4 grandchildren: Liam, Laith, Ethan and Kyle.

Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held Wednesday July 21, 2021 at 11 AM in the Nashville Memorial Gardens with Mr. Marlon Holloway officiating. Visitation is in the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Memorials are requested to the Wounded Warrior Project or Multiple System Atrophy Coalition.
