Guadalupe Alavarez "Lupe" Garza, 69, of Alapaha, died Tuesday November 28, 2023 at the Rehabilitation Center of South GA.

She was born February 1, 1954 in San Antonio, TX to the late Lauro C. Alvarez and the late Mauela Diaz. She was a homemaker, the widow of Jesus Garza who died in 2021 and was also preceded in death by a brother: Carlos Alvarez.

She is survived by 4 daughters: Alma Linda Garza of Chula, Rosalinda (Esual) Salazar of Enigma, Maricella (James) Gyr of Lakeland (Grandson: Jonathan Turner) and Veronika Garza of Alapaha; 3 sons: Jessie Garza, Jr of Sycamore, Fermin (April) Garza of Alapaha and Christopher Garza of Valdosta; sister: Lucy Alavarez of San Antonio, TX; 2 brothers: David Alvarez of Lafayette, NC and Manuel Alvarez of San Antonio, TX; 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday December 1, 2023 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Evangelist Linda Machado officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Friday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
