Obituary

Hansel Travis "Hank" Franklin, 74, of Nashville died Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at SGMC Valdosta.

He was born November 18, 1951, in Hahira to the late Vernon Franklin and the late Betty Ruth Rogers Franklin. He retired from civil service at Moody Air Force Base as a construction inspector. Before joining Moody, he worked with several construction companies as a draftsman. He graduated from Berrien High School Class of 1969, Valdosta Technical School and served in the United States Army. He was very involved with youth sports as a coach and umpire; enjoyed playing golf and Georgia Bulldog football games. He was preceded in death by a sister: Pat O'Steen and a brother: Glenn Franklin.

He is survived by his wife: Sheryl Franklin of Nashville; 2 daughters: Kayla Franklin of Las Vegas, NV and Kelly Franklin of Nashville; son: Travis Franklin of Atlanta; 2 sisters: Debra Cornelius of Nashville and Kay Franklin of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Saturday in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
