Obituary

Harold David Dillingham, 78, of Alapaha, died Tuesday July 23, 2024, in the Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 22, 1946, in Atkinson County to the late Fred Dillingham and the late Mary Jane Lott Dillingham. He was a dedicated farmer, member of Glory Church, an ameritus mason in Willacoochee Lodge#197 F and AM and a shriner in Hasan Temple. He loved to talk to others about Jesus, cooking his fried chicken and adored his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister: Louise Floyd; 2 brothers: Herman Dillingham and Quiton Dillingham.

He is survived by his wife: Marteel Tucker Dillingham of Alapaha; daughter: Leesa (Stanley) Carver of Willacoochee; son: Dave (Laurie) Dillingham of Alapaha; 3 grandchildren: Kalen (Shelby Nettleton) Dillingham of Nashville, Lauren Dillingham of Nashville and Payton (John) Wiggins of Douglas; 3 step granddaughters: Claire (Dillon) Nash of Nashville, Emily (Davis) Williamson of Tifton and Sara (Mark) Nugent) of Nashville; 4 great grandchildren; brother: Glenn (Madeline) Dillingham of Willacoochee; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 25, 2024 at 11 AM in The Barn with the Rev. Larry Hauser and the Rev. Carroll Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Dillingham Family cemetery at the Barn. Visitation is Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM in the funeral home.
