Harvey Gandy, Jr, 70, of Nashville, died Sunday February 7, 2021 in the Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness.

He was born November 29, 1950 in Cook County to the late Harvey Gandy and the late Fanniebell Pauline Miley Gandy. He was a welder with Brooks Welding in Valdosta, an avid lover of all music and a self- taught talented guitarist. He married Rita Rentz on May 26, 1978 and together they raised three children. He was the oldest of fourteen children and was preceded in death by an infant sister: Barbara Gandy; 2 brothers: Tommy Gandy and Johnny Wayne Gandy.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Rita Rentz Gandy of Nashville; 4 children: Anthony Palmer of Sarasota, FL, Terri (Tom) Jernigan of Ray City, Lisa Gandy of Waycross and Kenny (Brandy) Gandy of Cumming; 5 brothers: Dean Gandy of Nashville, Donnie Gandy of Abilene, TX, Jobie Gandy of Lenox, Arthur Gandy of Tarrytown, NY and Raymond Gandy of Hammond, WI; 5 sisters: Wanda Gandy of Panama City, FL, Janet Gandy of Sulphur Springs, TX, Corinna Gandy of Minneapolis, MN, Paulette Hernandez of Tifton and Taunia Richardson of Savannah; 8 grandchildren: Samanta (Tyler) Smith, Logan (Kristen) Miller, Connor Jernigan, Carly Holbrook, Eli Gandy, Brittany Marshall, Connor Palmer and Lincoln Gandy; 2 great grandchildren: Isley and Elliot Kent.

His family will honor his request for cremation and no formal services will be held. A special thanks to a very special neighbor: Tara (Matt) Starling, Dr. Ben Hogan, Hospice of South GA and the Langdale Hospice House.
