Obituary

Hattie Virginia Cornelius, 83, of Nashville died Sunday December 1, 2013 in the Berrien Nursing Center.

She was born March 1, 1930 in Sunflower County, MS to the late Earl Benjamin Coleman and the late Myrtle Bell Warren. She was a homemaker and retired from Nashville Mills in utilities. She was a member of Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands: Willie D. Ash and Lacy Chester Cornelius; daughter: Linda Ash Westberry; son: Lacy Cornelius; 2 grandsons: Ronnie Ash and Butch Cornelius; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by 2 sons: Ed (Sue) Ash of Nashville, and Larry (Carolyn) Cornelius of Dacula; daughter: Sally (Leonard) Shaw of Sylvester; brother: Richard D. Coleman of Ray City; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Long Bridge Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder Robert Skinner and Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
