Helen Marie Gaskins Garren, 75, of Valdosta died Tuesday June 18, 2019 at her residence.

She was born July 20, 1943 in Berrien County to the late Lawton Gaskins and the late Virginia Cowart Gaskins.  She was a retired civil service employee  in the accounting department at Moody Air Force Base after 38 years of service, a homemaker and  member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband: Ken Garren who died in 2014;  a sister: Juanita Maupin; a nephew: Lee Maupin

She is survived by 2 sons: Kenny (Heather) Garren of Winder and Kevin Garren of Valdosta; 2 grandchildren: Hannah Lyn Garren and Caleb Garren.

Funeral services will be held Friday June 21, 2019 at 2 pm in Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with  Rev. Jimmy Futch and  Rev. Kevin Stone officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation is Thursday 6-8 pm.
