Helen Teater, 80, of Macclenny, Florida, died Thursday August 8, 2024 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

She was born January 4, 1944 in Daytona Beach, FL to the late Woodroe Kirkland and the late Mirel McDaniel Kirkland. She was a homemaker and worked as an office manager for Jimmy's Wrecker Service. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening and loved her family. She was a true determined lady, who did what it took to get the task done. She was the widow of Donald Teater and was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: June Owen, Diane Peredo and Dorothy Ayran Mangubat.

She is survived by her son: Donald Teater, Jr of Macclenny, FL; 4 sisters: Patricia Gurr of Lilburn, Deborah Rabara of Belton, TX, Brenda Gehres of Pensacola, FL and Bonnie Simmons of Nashville; 2 brothers: Jim Kirkland of Hooper, UT and Warren Kirkland of Pensacola, FL; one hundred nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 14, 2024 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Tomberlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
