Obituary

Henry Murrell Ray, 78, of Tifton, formerly of Nashville, died Sunday July 21, 2019 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 1, 1941 in Berrien County to the late Paul Emory Ray and the late Lillian Bridges Ray. He retired with the Georgia Department of Transportation  in right-of-way acquisition. He was an environmentalist, naturalist, avid book collector and United States Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Melba Heath Ray.

He is survived by a sister: Linda Kaye (Jim) Stephan of Valdosta; 2 brothers: Gerald Wayne Ray of Nashville and Paul Lafaye Ray of Adel; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday July 24, 2019 at 11 AM in the Flat Creek Cemetery with  Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating. Visitation is in the cemetery 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Berrien County Humane Society.
