Herbert Gaskins, 86, of Nashville died Friday November 2, 2018 at his residence.

He was born November 28, 1931 in Berrien County to the late Lucius Gaskins and the late Ellen Solomon Gaskins.  He was retired after 40 years as a bus driver for Berrien County Board of Education and worked in maintenance at Chaparral Boats.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: James Gaskins and Breman Gaskins; and a sister: Delthenia Griffin.

He is survived by his wife: Ernestine Dix Gaskins of Nashville; son: Stanley (Brenda) Gaskins of Nashville; 2 grandchildren: Rebekah (Scott) Rigby of Nashville and Caleb Gaskins of Nashville; and a sister: Annette Pittman of Adel.

Funeral services will be held Monday November 5, 2018 at 2 PM in the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Morris and Rev. Mark Swain officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Sunday 6 to 8 PM.
