Obituary

Homer Harper, 76, of Nashville, died Sunday March 6, 2022 in the Southwell Health and Rehabilitation Center in Adel.

He was born on April 25, 1945 in Berrien County to the late Willie Harper and the late Thelma Powell Harper. He was a farmer and worked in the boat industry in the wood shop department for several years. He was a hard working simple man who lived a simple life, enjoyed working on his lawn mowers and boat motors. He took pride in growing a garden every year to watch it grow and to give it to family and friends. He found great pleasures in fishing and hunting, loved his dogs: Peewee and Elroy, horses; most of all, he loved his little family. He was preceded in death by his wife: Luneal Blanton Harper who died in 2016 and a niece: Anita Stanley Angell.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Tammy Harper of Nashville, Lisa Kay Harper of Nashville and Joanne (Allen) Kreager of Nashville; granddaughter: Kristen Kreager of Nashville; sister: Annette Stanley of Morven; nephew: John (Kacy) Stanley of Nashville; niece: Pam (Mario) Perez of Valdosta;  great nieces: Katie Stanley of Nashville and Abby Walker of Nashville; great nephew: Justin Angell of Warner Robins; several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 9, 2022 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Interment will follow in the Empire Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
