Ida Mae Powell, 91, of the Vanceville Community died Sunday July 27, 2014 in Tift Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 30, 1923 in Alapaha to the late Joe Rowe and the late Mary Harper. She was a homemaker, worked in the upholstery department at Chaparral Boats and was a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church. She was the widow of Tom Powell. She was predeceased by 3 daughters: Rachael Powell, Carolyn Purvis and Pauline Sapp; a son: Herman Powell; 5 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson.
She is survived by a daughter: Jean (Johnny) Davis of West Berrien; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; son-in-law: Wesley Purvis of Tifton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Tucker and Rev. Marvin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Empire Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 pm.
