Inez Lewis Bailey, 93, of Valdosta died Thursday July 19, 2018 in the Langdale Hospice House.

She was born January 14, 1925 in Berrien County to the late Walter W. Lewis  and the late Girlie Ann Mathis Lewis.  She was a homemaker, retired sales associate with Belk's in Valdosta and a member of Covenant Baptist Church.  She was the widow of Henry Lawson Bailey and was also preceded in death by 4 sisters: Effie Cook, Cora Bell Hughes, Kathleen Polk and Ethel Morgan; 3 brothers: Ivey Lewis, Lester Lewis and Emmitt Lewis.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Nelda Gates of Valdosta and Linda (Don) Schlegel of Prescott, AZ; 2 sisters: Myrtice Sutton of Clewiston, FL and Marie Clark of Lehigh Acres, FL; grandson: Bryan Schlegel of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday July 23, 2018 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Langdale Hospice House or Gideon's International.
