Obituary

Ira Loddie Shealy, 73, of Nashville, died Friday December 31, 2021 at SGMC.

He was born September 12, 1948 in Decatur County to the late Ira Cecil Shealy and the late Ethel Lee Brogdon Shealy. He was a former Berrien County deputy sheriff and retired as the Chief of Police for the City of Nashville after 20 years of service in law enforcement. He was an Army veteran, boot camp Drill Sergeant, served in Vietnam and was a member of the VFW. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and was preceded in death by a sister: Karen Shealy Bunton; brother: Hugh Shealy.

He is survived by his wife:  Dean Lee Shealy of Nashville; daughter: Amy Rebecca Holt of Adel; son: Ira Chad (Danya) Shealy of Nashville; 2 sisters: Mary Walker of Valdosta and Marie Shealy of Valdosta; 4 grandchildren: Brandon Holt, Andrew Holt, Isabella Shealy and Ty Shealy; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 4, 2022 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Freddie Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens with military honors.   Visitation is Tuesday one hour prior to the services. Those who desire to come to the services, family ask that you please wear a mask.
