Irene Maton Whitten's Obituary
Irene Maton Whitten, age 70 0f Nashville, died Thursday July 28 at the residence of her daughter in Ray City.
She was the widow of William Howard Whitten and was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Whitten. She was employed as a custodian at Berrien High School and attended the Nashville Holiness Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Edna (Elton) Griffin of Ray City; grandson, Billy Griffin of Ray City and 2 great grandchildren, Lexi and Chandler; 3 sisters, Edna Nasworthy of Fitzgerald, Lucille Reece of Tifton and Mildred Jenkins of Boaz, Al; 4 brothers, Edgar Lee Maton of Boaz, Al, Ralph Maton of Tifton, Robert Lee Maton of Cartersville and Willimam Maton of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held Sunday July 31 at 4 pm in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery.
Visitation is Saturday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
