J L Stanford, 89, of Nashville died Monday September 28, 2020 at the Rehabilitation of South GA in Tifton.

He was born January 12, 1931 in Cook County to the late Milton C Stanford and the late Abbie Smith Stanford.  He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the City of Nashville after 28 years of service in the street and maintenance departments.  He was preceded in death by his wife: Hazel Juanita Warren Stanford who died in 2016; daughter: Brenda Moore; two sisters: Marjorie Johnson and Ruth Kirkland; four brothers: Russell, L A, Lewis and Tim Stanford; grandson: Michael Stanford.

He is survived by two sons: Charles (Christine) Stanford and Jimmy (Jacqueline) Stanford both of Nashville; seven grandchildren: Shannon Moore, Jessica Hecker, Joachim Stanford, Jordan Stanford, Vicky Holley, Pam Harper and Billy Holley; great grandchildren: Little Michael, Ashley, Devin, Dustin and Jayde.

Funeral services will be held Thursday October 1, 2020 at 11 AM in Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating.  Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service.
