Obituary

Rev. Jack Brannen Smithwick, 87, of Nashville died Sunday December 8, 2019 at his residence.

He was born August 24, 1932 in Moultrie to the late Samuel Perry Smithwick and the late Bessie Lee Greene.  He was the pastor at the Nashville Church of the Nazarene and served in the U. S. Army.  He was a very instrumental minister through the Church of the Nazarene for 27 years in Nashville, Hahira and Valdosta. He truly loved serving his Lord, Church and family.  He was preceded in death by a daughter: Carol Smithwick Scattergood; four sisters; and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Lois Smithwick of Nashville; son: Jack B. "Chuck" Smithwick, Jr. of Nashville; daughter: Martha Humphries of Waycross; two grandsons; four granddaughters; 12 great grandchildren; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 12, 2019 at 2 PM in the Nashville Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Royce Wilkerson and Rev. Charles Barden  officiating.  Interment will follow in Murphy Community Cemetery in Colquitt County.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM.
