Jackie Alonzo Clanton, 80, of Nashville died Thursday December 26, 2024 at his residence.

He was born May 27, 1944 in Lowndes County to the late Alonzo Washington Clanton and the late Thelma Rutherford Clanton. He worked at Nashville Mills for over 30 years and was a member of the Nashville Church of God. He loved watching NASCAR, wrestling, the Atlanta Braves and sitting by a campfire. He loved going to church and most of all, loving and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife: Kathryn Harrell Clanton who died in 2001.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Rebecca (Tim) Walker of Lenox and Wendy (Wes) Glisson of Valdosta; 4 sons: Jason (Marie) Clanton of Nashville, Scott (Becky) Clanton of Nashville, Aaron (April) Clanton of Nashville and Marty Gray of Nashville; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday December 30, 2024 at 2 PM in the Nashville Church of God with Rev. Jerry Hewett, Rev. Scott Walker and Rev. Lee Pittman officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Bridge cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hospice of Tiftarea.
