Rev. James Williard Davis, 69, of Pearson died Friday June 1, 2012 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.
He was born March 2, 1943 in Douglas, Georgia to the late James Lawton Davis and the late Rose Annie Reliford. He was a mechanic and the Principle Chief of the Cherokee Indian Nation National and International Howlin Wolf Tribe.
He is survived by his wife: Ammie Knight Davis of Pearson; 2 sons: James Harris Davis and Jonathan Clinton Davis both of Axson; 3 daughters: Princess Cherokee Rose Davis, Brenda Louise Cay Washakona Tanner, and Naomi Little Fawn Denise Tanner all of Axson; 3 sisters: Jimmie Turner and Vivian Davis both of Douglas, and Jacqueline Rowells of Nahunta; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday June 3, 2012 at 4 PM in the Jernigan Family Cemetery in Enigma with Mr. Grey Wolf officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
