Obituary

James Earl Hughes, 91, of Nashville died Saturday August 22, 2020 in South Georgia Medical Center.

He was born February 21, 1929 in Berrien County to the late Jessie Elias Hughes and the late Vergie Durrance Hughes.  He was employed with J.D. Tygart Manufacturing for 20 years, worked at Berrien Cabinets and retired with the J. H. Harvey Co. in the maintenance department. He was a former member and deacon at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church and was a current member of Nashville First Baptist Church and a Master Mason in Duncan Lodge F&AM #234. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Lamar Hughes and Talmadge Hughes and 2 infant brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years: Euretha Cribb Hughes of Nashville; son: Kenny (Marcia) Hughes of Nashville: two grandsons: James (Lauren) Hughes of Starke, FL and Marc Hughes of Nashville; sister: Carolyn Bailey of Nashville; 3 great grandchildren: Adalyn, Nathan and Amelia.

A private family service will be held Tuesday August 25, 2020 with  Rev. Michael Bennett and Rev. Keith Stewart officiating.  Interment will be in Westview Cemetery.  Memorials are requested to the Nashville First Baptist Church.
