James William Hughey, 80, of Sylvester, died Saturday March 6, 2021 at his residence.

He was born October 15, 1940 in Covington, TN to the late James Marshall Hughey and the late Annie Mai Welch. He was a retired cookware sales representative with West Bend Corp. and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by a son: James Marshall Hughey II; grandson: Jeffrey Stephens Murphy; sister: Bernodine Hughey

He is survived by his wife: Judy Ellen Barber Hughey of Sylvester; daughter: Sherri (Craig) Barrs of Douglas; son: Richard Dean Hughey of Sylvester; 2 sisters: Debbie Daniel of Covington, TN and Thomasine Hughey of Covington, TN; 3 brothers: Benton Hughey of Collierville, TN, Wayne Hughey and Kenneth Hughey both of Covington, TN; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held Monday March 8, 2021 at 2 PM in the Vickers Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Vaughn officiating. Visitation is Monday from noon to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
